AFTENPOSTEN       (Aftenposten on web)

Tuesday July 9th. Aftenposten (one of the most read newspapers in Norway) had an article about Thomas S going to China... here you can read a short summary of the article... (we are not allowed to scan it)

Thomas Stanghelle (25) started out when he was 4 years old, singing in public at a doctors convention. He performed in many musicals as he grew up, and now finally after many years of hard work the CD Colony is out. He has written all the music and the lyrics himself, is singing and playing keyboards/piano, but plays with his band.

One of the songs from the CD is going to be the theme song for a Chinese TV-series that is being sendt this fall in China. The channel CCTV is a large channel, with many viewers. The series is about young Mark Wang that despite of trouble and his handicap made it all the way to Norway. The Chinese heard the music, and they wanted to use the song "Angel of life" as a theme song for the series. Thomas S is invited to the opening show for the series in China, with big concerts in Beijing and Shanghai. A lot of big chinese artists are also participating at these concerts. Later in the fall the Chinese want Thomas S to go on tour in China.

Thomas Stanghelle is going to Trondheim this fall, to begin at the "Musikkonservatoriet" to study classical singing. Thomas always liked to mix different types of music, like pop music and classical music. Music really gets exiting when you can mix different kinds of music. Thomas is from a home of music, with a mother who sings opera (Mezzosoprano Turid Stanghelle). Thomas would like to sing in the new opera building that is going to be built in Oslo some day...
